Was shopping at Sam's Club in Aurora, Colorado (6201 S Aurora Pkwy, Aurora, CO 80016) when I was enticed by an employee to taste the Artisan Bread. To be polite, I took one of the little cups with a cube of bread, ate the bread, and not immediately finding a trash can, I left the empty (and clean) cup on the stand, smiling and thanking the employee. Usually, there is no problem living the cup with the employees as often they solicit the empty cup in their gloved hands.

However, this time was different. After I walked a few yards, I heard the employee yelling at someone. I turned. She was yelling at me to put the cup in the trash. "It goes in the trash" she said, not kindly. It was ridiculous, but she was old and looked smitten, and I wanted to stay polite. I started walking back to the stand, telling her not to worry, I could handle it. I walk with a limp, by the way, because of arthritis in a knee.

However, as I was approaching the stand, she took the cup and threw it in the tiny little waste basket that was at her side, not very prominent I must say. Which is why I had overlooked it.

As I was standing there, gasping with surprise, I saw other clients approach the stand, and take samples of the bread. However, they were not asked to put the spent cups in the trash can.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that this employee is black, that the clients coming after me were black, and that I am white.

This employee obviously has problem with people not of her race. She should not work where the majority of clients are white.

Location: Aurora, Colorado

Most of the food people don't work for Sam's. They are employees or contractors of other retail companies.

Next time, instead of just smiling and sitting your dirty cup next to everyone else's food (yuck) open your mouth and politely ask where the trash can is. I'm sure the black or white or orange, etc demo worker would be happy to tell you where it's at.

She had every right to yell at you. By the time you are five years old you should know that you put garbage in the trash and not on the table.

Don't come to us with this BS about there being no trashcan nearby, they have trash cans next to the demo thing. What does your walking with a limp because you have arthritis. Were you hoping to score brownie points for this? Hoping it forbids you from doing the right thing?

Well arthritis does not prevent you from seeing the trash can right by her side. It does not make you blind so think about something else to use for your laziness. The reason they were not asked to put the cups in the trash was because they already did so and did not leave her to do it.

This has nothing to do with your race but the fact that you are an inconsiderate person using your disability and race to score brownie points. It has the opposite effect, it makes you look like a fool.
