If you only have a "regular" membership $45. the employees continue to harass you every time you check out to upgrade to "PLUS" membership for an extra $55. so then your total membership is $100 / year. They have a dollar or two off the specials for those with "PLUS" memberships ONLY throughout the store each week. I don't want to be bothered every time I come in the store to purchase something. I have a business account with 6 - 8 people below me on my account. We spend thousands of dollars there every year!! and we have been members for a very long time! I sent several emails from my online account...trying to harass them a little to let them know how it felt. all of a sudden, all the accounts were deleted off. everyone has paid their 1 yr membership and now they want us to prove we paid it!!!! it would have expired in January 2015... it's April 2015 and we've all been using it!!! it we hadn't paid, they would have let us know at the checkout these last couple months!!!

We do have a Costco in the area. But not as close as Sams. pretty sure we're not renewing next year!

Why can't they put a message on your account so when they swipe the membership card it would say, "DO NOT ASK THEM TO UPGRADE!". Put it in the "Name" field.

STOP HARASSING YOUR LOYAL SAMS CLUB CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!

I'M TIRED OF IT!!!!

Thanks,

Lynn

I'm so sick of being asked to upgrade my membership. As I entered the store an employee ran after me to talk about upgrading!

Then at the check out I was asked again!

I plan on being on my cellphone at check out so I can ignore being badgered by the cashier.

Also, Costco has an executive membership at their store that is the same as Sam's Plus Membership. They also ask their valued business members at check out to upgrade once to start earning their cash.

rewards. Good luck being a business member spending thousands of dollars a year at a big bulk retailer and not being asked to upgrade to benefit your business.

As a Sam's Club former cashier and membership champion, I am letting you know that this is our job. We are specifically supposed to ask people who have a business with numerous accounts to upgrade.

It's *** not to, because you do realize that all of their 2% cash rewards will all load back onto YOUR card to use at check out or cash out at the end of your membership year? You get a lot of other benefits from the business plus but I'm sure you're too *** stubborn to even consider it. I want to face palm myself whenever I encounter members such as yourself. We are just doing our jobs and genuinely trying to earn you cash rewards.

Also, if you and your add one shop a lot, whatever cash rewards you accumulate throughout the year will pay for your membership itself plus leaving money left over.

Do your research and get over yourself. Simply say "I do not want to upgrade period, thank you", if you are so stubborn to refuse something beneficial to you as a business member.

Get off your high horse. I get exactly what OP is saying and I am also sick of being harassed to upgrade.

I do not want to upgrade and state as much every visit when asked. Ive done the math, I just barely might break even if I buy it so that also means I will same position if I don't except I get to keep my money up front. Guess what? You do not invest when you will only break even.

Unfortunately, saying no is not enough.

After refusing the first request to upgrade, the sales associate will continue to pressure me and present me with all the savings I am missing out on. This is the point at which I get mad. I said no once and that should be enough.

I certainly wish I could opt out for good. The place is becoming not worth the frustration and like it or not if something doesn't change I will be shopping elsewhere.
