My brother bought my son a pack of Wii controllers for his birthday. When I took them out of the box I discovered that one of the controllers did not work. I don't have a Sam's membership anymore, we go to Costco (for many reasons). I didn't think it would be a problem. I just wanted to exchange it for one that worked.

I went in there and was told that all returns had to be linked to an account. I repeated that I just wanted an exchange. It had their price tag on it. So I say "Fine, let me call him and get his account number." They said, "Well no we need the member to come to the store."

I tried to explain that my brother didn't live that close. The manager asked where I lived and where my brother lived (about 35-40 miles away). He told that it wasn't that far. I took my broken controller and left telling them their customer service was why I belong to Costco now. The only response I got as I left was "Oh well, that's our policy."
