60 Dollar Cake on Food Stamps
- - I don't have a problem with Food Stamps; they help many.
- - A $60 Hello Kitty cake was bought with SNAP.
- - The cake was 3 feet by 1.5 feet.
I don't have a problem with Food Stamps and feel that it can be a good program that benefits a lot of people. However, yesterday, I stood behind 3 women in line at Sam's Club with a cake that was 3 feet x 1 1/2 feet with Hello Kitty decorations.
$60 dollars...and she paid for it with a SNAP card. $60 dollars! This just chaps my butt. This is just wrong and a bunch of ***!
There is something wrong with the system when money designed for food for a month can so callously be wasted on a $60 cake. It probably would have not bothered me had it been a 20 dollar cake but $60 just blows my mind.

Verified Reviewer |Not satisfied with my order.
- - The plastic knives were not what I expected and seemed cheap.
- - The package arrived smashed.
- - This is not my first unacceptable Sam's Club delivery.
Multiple problems. Unbeknownst to me, the plastic knives i ordered were not what I was expected.
Instead of the same quality as your Spoons and forks, they were cheap, flimsy, light weight knock offs.
And when they arrived, the package was smashed. This is not my first unacceptable dealings I've had with Sam's club deliveries.
User's recommendation: Be careful.

- - Booked a hotel via Sam's Club Travel & Entertainment powered by EBG.
- - Hampton Inn Huntsville manager made false claims and said she changed my room.
Greetings. Booked hotel through Sam's Club Travel & Entertainment powered by EBG procures its hotel reservations from a variety of hotel partners: Hampton Inn, Huntsville, Ala.
The manager of the Hampton Inn made false claims about me and told Sam's Club Travel she changed my room, which did not happen! Both of these companies took no accountability.
- First time using the entertainment website
- Dont tell the truth and no accountability
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Don't book with Sams Club travels nd watch back for Newbanks at Hampton

Verified Reviewer |Shopping cart rolling downhill from the cart corral slammed into my vehicle and caused over $1600 of damage. Sam’s Club refuses to take any responsibility.
- - Cart rolled from its corral and damaged my vehicle; over $1,600.
- - The claim was denied after I followed the process; I must pay a $500 deductible.
Sam’s Club will do everything in its power to not pay out on an insurance claim—even when it is their property, I would avoid locations where parking is difficult and or on a slope. And given the way they treat the customers I would just avoid Sam’s Club altogether.
Shopping cart rolling downhill in the parking lot from its own cart corral slammed into my vehicle and caused over $1,600 of damage. I went through all the proper channels to try to get it addressed, spoke with three managers, and went through the claims process.
Of course, it was denied. They refuse to pay anything.
I've had to make a claim with my own insurance company and have a $500 deductible I have to pay. We've had other bad experiences with Walmart, so I shouldn't be surprised.
- Some products are cheap
- Everything else-no initiative-no responsibility-no customer care
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: DO NOT shop at any location with a sloped parking lot. Your shopping trip could end up costing you thousands..

Verified Reviewer |Discounts not available online
- - Tried Milk-Bone and Pup-peroni with a $3 discount for up to 6.
- - AI couldn't help; a human suggested buying now and calling back about the discount.
I was trying to order Milk-Bone dog biscuits and Pup-peroni treats and it shows a $3 discount and you can order up to 6 total. Well when I add to the cart NO discount so I called customer service and got the stupid AI and it said it couldn't help so I tried called again and after a bit I did get a person who told me to just buy it without getting the discount and when it arrives to call back and see than if I can get the discount! REALLY???
- Using stupid ai
Preferred solution: discounts as shown on their website
User's recommendation: Don't use the AI and actually I think I will be canceling my Sams membership!
How they got my card number for my renewal
I finally got ahold of Jolieo in customer service who was able to understand what I needed. He resolved my issue in less than 10 minutes.
I had been on the phone for an hour with Sam's Club trying to get to a person that could understand what I needed. Once I spoke to an actual person in their credit card bank, she was able to transfer me to the correct number to reach a person.
- Convenience
- Lack of personal contact when needed
Preferred solution: I got what I needed once I spoke to a knowledgeable person. Easier access to a person in customer service would be thoughtful.
User's recommendation: Be specific when AI answers
Delivery problem
- - Sams refused delivery to my Chandler subdivision address.
- - No explanation was given.
- - Online messages got no reply.
- - Calling yielded an automated response.
Tried to order a dishwasher. I receive deliveries often from Sam's, in the subdivision, in the city of Chandler.
Sam's refused to deliver to the address. No explanation. I messaged online, no reply. I called, the robot said I can't help you.
Futile waste of time. Really disappointed in Sam's.
- Delivery and installation included
- Then refused
- Good price
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Refused to deliver dishwasher, although we receive deliveries often from Sam’s, no way to contact them. Cut off by phone, online, store cannot help.Sam offers free delivery, installation and parts but refuses to deliver?

Verified ReviewerBad Customer service
- - Ordered a laptop online with a 1-year warranty plus a 2-year extension.
- - Laptop died; warranty expired a month after purchase.
Ordered a laptop via their website. It had a year warranty plus 2 years on top of it.
Saturday, it 100% died. I logged into HP to see the warranty expired a month after purchase, and neither Sam's nor HP actually cares!
I called in, and no one can actually help nor wants to help. All I hear is just wait, just wait.
I want to cancel my membership
- - I want to cancel my Sam's Club membership and get a refund.
- - I did not consent to renewal and will not pay $5; I will contact BBB if unresolved.
I no longer want to be a member of Sam's Club. There's nothing wrong with the store.
I just don't shop there anymore, and I would like a refund. I already gave the information, and I'm not paying five dollars to no expert to get my money back because I did not consent for them to renew this membership, and if so, I will call the Better Business Bureau.
I no longer want to be a member
I won't be shopping at Sam's Club anymore. No problem with the store; I just never go in there, and my card was renewed without my consent.
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerBeware of Sam’s Club Scan&Go.
- - Scan & Go changes every 6 months.
- - Now it requires store Wi-Fi instead of cellular data.
- - Corporate couldn't explain why store Wi-Fi is required.
I've had Sam's Club card for decades. I get frustrated when they change Scan & Go every 6 months.
Now to use Scan & Go, you're required to use store Wi-Fi; I can't use my more secure cell data. I called Sam's Club Corp to ask why. First, I got a call center in El Salvador. I asked for corporate, then was transferred to the Philippines.
Finally, I got a U.S. call center (never got Corp). They could not explain why they forced us to use store Wi-Fi.
I don't know what Sam's Club is up to, but they obviously put their own wants above the security of their customers. Very sad - Sam must be spinning in his grave.
Preferred solution: Fix th Scan & Go system. Care about Customer Security.

Verified ReviewerRacial Profiling
- - The associate's tone implied I might steal.
- - I was held at the door to scan items.
- - A shopper with more items went through.
I went through an upsetting situation yesterday. I went to Sam's in Franklin to purchase cupcakes.
I stopped by the perfume display and went to put the two perfumes in my buggy. The associate's tone made me feel like I was going to steal the items. I paid for them and went back to get cupcakes and a pair of jeans.
I went to check out, and when I left, the associate at the door literally held me there to scan all my 2 items and allowed the guy behind me, who wasn't black, to go through, and he had more items than me. This was demeaning.
- Some things are cheaper than costco
- Depending on the location depends on how youre treated
Preferred solution: I asked for a full refund but was only given a portion of the refund. I was belittled and treated unfairly! I feel like I should be compensated for my humiliation and disrespect and they should train their employees to treat everyone equally.
User's recommendation: if you're a person of color beware

Verified ReviewerHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
- - Placed 5/29 pickup for 11–12 on 5/30; charged immediately.
- - Arrived at 11:00; the order was not ready.
- - Order canceled; won't renew Sam's Club.
Placed an order on 5/29 early morning for pickup on 5/30 between 11-12 noon. Credit card charged immediately.
Arrived at 11:00 on 5/30 and order status was showing in progress, not picked and ready for me to pick up. Called customer service and explained the situation. Was put on hold for 10 minutes then was told no one is available in order pickup. Employee was very rude!
Waited a few more minutes and called again and explained that part of the order was ice cream treats for me to take for my grandson's birthday on his last day of school (kindergarten) and they had to be at school by noon due to early out on the last day. Again put on hold and this time disconnected after 15 minutes. Finally, after 5 times calling and part with no answer at all, I left around 11:45. Due to torn MCL, couldn't go in stores to shop.
He was expecting his treats so I had no choice but to hit Dairy Queen on my way across town to the school. So instead of a $20 treat bill, DQ bill was $59; plus my car ran for 45 minutes while waiting for the order??? When I called the store again, I asked to speak to the order pickup manager and got one of the delivery employees. Explained the situation and frustration this has caused, and she was so full of excuses it was ridiculous!
Needless to say, the order was cancelled and I will not be renewing my Sam's Club membership. Costco would probably love a new customer and maybe they can provide decent customer service without excuse after excuse and rude employees!
- Horrible customer service and nothing but excuses
Preferred solution: Full refund

This shouldn't require repeating. What someone buys on their food assistance isn't your business unless you are married to them.
Even then, tread lightly. Stay in your lane. Mind your own garden.
And just because you won't take that advice: You don't have to use your entire balance each month. You can budget back a $5.00 each month for someone's $60 birthday cake.
When he pays for their food by paying taxes it is his business. IF you gave a beggar food for money and they spent it on drugs you would not be happy.
Sort of the same thing. He expects her to spend HIS money on a healthy meal, not junk.
If you are going to pay taxes to pay these people to eat food that is healthy it is your business. You are basically paying for that cake. You as someone that pays for them to eat have every right to be upset and it is your business.
So because she is on ebt her kids don’t deserve a good birthday cake ?!
That is not the issue. The issue is that she is supposed to use that money for healthy food.
Also people have stated that she can still give her child a cake and spend way less on it. The sad thing is people actually work, sometimes they have two jobs and they cannot afford cake. They do not get assistance, while people like her use the money from tax payers to buy her the cake. The issue is she is abusing the system.
She can always pick up a cake mix at the dollar store, Target, Walmart , any store that sells groceries and still have cake for her brat. What is she going to feed the child for the rest of the month.
If someone pays taxes they expect the person who gets these benefits to feed their children healthy food. There is no reason she should be spending sixty dollars on cake.
I work full time and am a single mom and get EBT. If I want to take a some of that in 1 month to make my child who deserves a nice birthday happy with a nice cake so we can share that special memory with out loved ones, I'll do it.
As a full time employee with 2 degrees , I am also a taxpayer and am allowed to use what I pay out for my kid. Also u pay less than 1% into food stamps so you need to Mind your business and stop calling people's children brats because they're parent doesn't want to get them a ghetto cake for their birthday. You seem like the brat with this post.
Cake has almost everything in the food pyramid btw. Healthy enough for me
Cake is not healthy.
Stop harassing people who pay to feed you.
Also it is their business since they pay taxes that go towards feeding your child. If you abuse the system, the people who pay to feed you have a right to be upset.
They should not mind their own business when they are being taken advantage of. The child is the brat.
Also, it is easy for you to tell people to budget better because you are not earning your own money to feed your child. IT is easy for you to budget because you get a free handout.
You did not work for that money. Until you earn your own money, you have NO RIGHT telling people to budget their HARD-EARNED MONEY. If you did not get EBT you would not be able to budget and buy the cake.
I am reporting you for fraud, soon you won't have EBT. Easy to say learn to budget better when you are spending someone else money.
Two degrees and on food stamps....So much for the strong and independent. Another baby machine and drag on society. Please do not re pro duce again...
If you have two degrees GET A JOB. You should not be abusing the system because you do not want to work.
Stop assuming that everyone who receives ebt is lazy and doesn't work. Smh. Keyboard warriors at its finest.
Whether she works or not is not the issue, the issue is her abusing the system. Feeding her kids junk when it is supposed to be for healthy food. If you could read you would know this.
yes its very irritating to see snap benefits being used for an expensive cake. However, 99%of the time (I workcustomer Service) they will bring a half eaten cake back and want refunded which our store always does that money then goes back on their snap card so its a win win for them They get their cake eat what they want, bring the have eaten cake back and get a refund, so technically they dont buy the $60.00 cake lol no joke
That is sad. The worst part if the cake gets thrown out. They probably eat as much as they can to qualify for a refunf.
Take this down
Why, this is one of the most entertaining reviews here.
How tf did that affect you personally?
He technically paid for the cake since EBT is from taxes.
