I only shopped twice the last year, I guess the pennies I saved in those trips are being recovered by the store who charge 100 dollars for the annual membership. I went to the store in Oxnard, and the membership person told me that I had to do it online; however, the Sam's website has no way of cancelling the account, which makes me feel like I signed a contract with the DEVIL!!!!

I am pissed because there is no way of cancelling online, which means that I have to drive another 15 miles to Oxnard to talk to the *** membership clerk to get my money back.....

I know that not having an easy way of cancelling the membership online it must be a marketing strategy to not make it easy for people to cancel at their will, and somehow feels like being an unwilling company...

I prefer my freedom... so tomorrow, I will go to Sam's club for the third time to return their freaking card....

Monetary Loss: $100.

how do you cancel a sams club membership

I have spent the last two days of 12/10/2015 and 16 to try and get my card cancelled. I talked to FIVE people all of whom kept saying that they were too busy during the holidays to do this ...but HANG ON!

I am waiting now as i write this. It must be part of their marketing strategy to NOT LET people cancel.

I just called the number on the back of my membership card today and had no issues cancelling our membership. It was due to be renewed in 2 days but since we've only used it 2-3 times (live 45 minutes to the nearest club) wanted to cancel it before they charged us a renewal fee.

The lady I spoke with told me she would cancel it and send a full refund within 6 weeks so we'll see if that comes through... fingers crossed.

Sam's clubs basic membership is 40.00. If they were trying to charge you 100.00 it's because they are pushing you to upgrade to plus.

If you don't shop there that often there is no reason for you to upgrade to plus.

Yes you get the Evalue savings but going in a couple times a year isn't going to pay for that. I would request the 40.00 dollar basic membership.

On line memberships $40.00 ... store membership offered only A $100.00 membership ....

3 hours of shopping and somewhat dissapointed by a lack of price savings expected ... totally disturbed at check out after picking out approx. $300.00 in groceries only to learn that our VISA credit card was not accepted even though it was good enough to buy membership ???

The return of our full cost of "membership" and never setting foot in that big box ponzi scheme ...

PRICELESS. Now to get that refund ...

Someone is going to get in trouble if they return a membership. Too bad for them.

Walk right in, tell them to give you the return, and if they don't yell and scream for the manager until one shows up and gives it to you. If they won't do it on the spot get everybody's name and start making phone calls until they return the $60 part of your membership and give you a $50 gift card for your trouble. I'm not sure what the policy is for the $40 part of your membership.

I'm curious, did they mention that there is a $40 membership or did they only tell you there is a $100? Many stores do that but my manager won't do it because he is not sure how legal it it.

No live person answers the phone nor is there any option to cancel membership when you call this number. Why should I have to come into the store?

Print their return policy that says you can refund membership AT ANY TIME if you are not satisfied, and bring it with you when you go to the store. And make sure you deal only with the manager and note her name.

I'm waiting for the day before my membership expires to cancel it although I'll never shop there again.
