New ReviewerI recently visited the Sam's Club store in Douglasville Ga. During my first visit I went to investigate the possibility of acquiring a hearing aid, and purchase a smartwatch for my wife.
The hearing aid store was not open, so I proceeded to look for a watch. I could not locate anyone to assist me, {I'm assuming that due to a security issue they are not left in the open} so proceeded to finish my shopping. As I was leaving the store I inquired with the associate at the door about the watch. She replied that I should ask one of the people who wore green vests identifying them as manager/supervisor.
So I returned and observed a young lady donning a green vest at a cash register.I went stood in line, but as I got close she started waving customers away to another cashier. But since I did not need a cashier, I remained to speak with her. Instead, her actions to me became more hostile than helpful. At that point I exited the store.
That day I called and filed a verbal complaint with Mr Mayfield, in the corporate office. He assured me that the thing would be looked into.
I returned the next day to test and purchase hearing aids. As the Audiologist and I proceeded to pay for them, I found that I did not bring the right membership card to continue, and I requested to use a valid copy from my phone, denied. But was offered to apply for a Sam's Mastercard account, which would allow the transaction to continue.
I asked why I would get another Mastercard when I was paying with one? The cashier never at any moment during this conversation said anything positive nor offered any help to further my assistance.
I must stop at this point to interject that my primary reason for coming into that store was to purchase a device to assist my hearing, and up until my purchase, I relied more on lip-reading and body language. In dealing with this person I have NEVER been so offended by a Sam's Associate, in any of the stores I've visited across the country.
Maybe I should not keep practicing Einstein's definition of insanity, "repeating the same thing over and over expecting different results". I'm sure that this standard of practice is not condoned.
But what are you doing about it? I've visited this store three times in a row and got the same results. So maybe the people I file my complaint with don't follow up?
Or maybe I should say It's not your problem, but I know that I can say that This will be the prime topic at my next business meeting.
Thank you,
Jeffery Chestnut
